The results are in, or most of them anyway, for this year’s CLIO Awards. The field of Bronze, Silver and Gold winners is full of amazing advertisements across a huge variety of fields.
One of our favorites of the CLIO winners is “Super Bowl Babies,” from our partner National Football League. The unique, funny and heart-warming promo won a Bronze award in this year’s CLIO Sports categories. Watch it embedded above.
What makes “Super Bowl Babies” so much fun is its originality. NFL started the process of creating the spot by involving singer-songwriter Seal, who reworked his song “Kissed by a Rose” to hit on the idea of kids born nine months after their local teams’ Super Bowl win. With the actual Super Bowl babies on hand to sing the song together with Seal, NFL turned a fun fact into something humorous and touching.
As the video case study on the CLIO website for the award discusses, the campaign worked NFL reach its goal of helping America to fall back in love with football. The spot does a phenomenal job of reaching out to fans and looking at how much of an impact America’s most popular sport has on all Americans.
Check out the “Super Bowl Babies” entry here to see the campaign video. It’s great for insights both into a powerful campaign idea and an award-winning presentation to judges.
Then, you should check out the rest of the CLIO Awards winners. They represent some of the best work in the industry. The CLIO Awards are over for 2016, but they’ll be here before we know it for 2017. As always, if you’re looking to enter, Brave Dog is standing by to help.
Meantime, keep being creative!
